Well, after the disappointing end to season 2 of Hell on Wheels, I just plowed through It Had To Be You, the latest Lucky Harbor book by Jill Shalvis, which was exactly the light, fluffy, happy read I needed. I’m listening to Flirting With Disaster by Sheryl Woods in audio while I wait for my next Audible credit so that I can FINALLY dive into Heart of Obsidian. I still need several more HEAs to make up for Hell on Wheels.
Revision Hell is going slowly. I’ve got 21 out of 32 scenes left to go. I’m mostly into the scenes that require, you know, actual WORK now. Rewriting, rearranging, etc. I had intended to sink my teeth into that on Monday, but got laid low by a migraine straight after work and missed my writing block. I ended up finishing plotting Act 2 of my next book later that evening, which was a pretty decent day’s work. I DID get into the meat of things yesterday, doing some work on making my opening act more active than it was. So…progress. I’m steady plugging away. I hope to knock out all the revisions to Act 1 by the end of the weekend.
I started the recording process for all my lectures yesterday. I’d hoped to get 5 done and ended up only getting 3 because, OF COURSE, since I needed it quiet, the grounds crew decided to cut down trees outside my office. >.< They aren’t running quite as long as I thought, so I expect I’ll be staying after hours, when the world is gone, to record one each day a few times a week. Once THAT’s done, then there’s editing to do, and final production and uploading and…yeah. Stuff.
Summer semester begins tomorrow, and I finally have all my ducks in a row for both those classes. It SHOULD run smoothly. I hope. But it’s the first semester where the entire university is on the new software platform for online classes, so I expect there will be a fair amount of the “but, but, it LOOKS DIFFERENT!” and “I CAN’T FIND THE BLAH DE BLAH” that’s right in front of their faces.
Anyway, I’m off to staff meeting.
I shall leave you with today’s life track, Colbie Caillat’s Bubbly–because I’m in the mood for snuggles and this song always makes me think about snuggling.
